Love Island stars are known for flaunting their figures in teeny bikinis in the villa. While some embrace the natural look, others have gone under the knife to enhance their figures. Olivia Attwood Dack, Anna Vakili and Megan Barton Hanson are just a few former contestants who have spoken candidly about their surgery woes.
From being left afraid they were going to die in Turkey after collapsing in a hotel room, to waking up with bigger boobs than expected, it doesn’t always go to plan.
Botched breast augmentation surgery can lead to serious complications like infections, severe scarring, asymmetry, implant rupture, and capsular contracture, where scar tissue forms around the implant, causing hardness and distortion. It can also cause chronic pain and require more surgeries to fix, which have their own risks and costs. It is also common for psychological effects, such as body image issues and decreased self-esteem.

Speaking exclusively to OK!, Dr. Omar Tillo – Plastic Surgeon and Senior Medical Director at CREO Clinic, explains that surgery regrets can be quite common when decisions are made impulsively or without fully understanding the long-term effects.
He says: “Many young people may choose cosmetic enhancements because of trends or social pressure, without considering the permanence and risks. To avoid regrets, you should have thorough consultations to understand realistic outcomes and potential complications. It is important to take time to think about the decision and ensure you’re not rushing into it. Being psychologically ready and having clear, realistic expectations are key.”
Warning against travelling abroad for surgery, Dr Tillo says: “Many botched breast augmentations happen when people travel to countries like Turkey because the procedures are cheaper. The lower cost often means lower standards in medical training, facility quality, and oversight. There’s also usually less follow-up care, which is essential for recovery and spotting complications. While not all surgeries abroad are bad, it’s important to thoroughly research and choose reputable clinics and surgeons, whether at home or abroad. You should always prioritise safety and quality over cost.”
Here, OK! takes a look at some of the reality stars from the ITV2 dating show over the years who have opened up about their boob job surgeries.

Malin is no stranger to going under the knife. Between the ages of 16 and 25 alone, the reality star – who starred in series two of Love Island in 2016 – had liposuction, two breast uplifts, nipple correction, lip filler and Botox.
Speaking exclusively to OK!, mum of one Malin opened up on her procedures, saying: “When I look back, I was a little girl doing it. It was a very dangerous procedure that I had. I went to Turkey with no research. Now, I see my body and the crap I’ve done to myself. It makes me so sad that I even wanted to. It’s a constant reminder of who I once was but also a constant reminder of the growth.”
She added that her worst experience was following her nipple correction surgery. “I went to Dubai for a holiday a month after I had my boobs done and was out clubbing. I was drinking alcohol and my nipple was half hanging off. My friend told me but I just kept drinking. The next day, I was in agony,” Malin said.

Jessie previously told her social media followers she regrets having a boob job when she was younger. The Australian reality star called the experience a “nightmare” and confessed she wishes she’d stayed natural.
She said on Instagram: “It was one of those nightmare ones that didn’t go to plan. I hope people don’t call me fake and they can see past it. I honestly wish I could go back and tell younger me, ‘Dude, don’t get a boob job, you’re fine the way you are.’ They kind of shoved [the implants] in, didn’t structure it or anything and they were just really, really far apart. And they pretty much fell into my armpits.”
Laura Anderson

Laura got a loan behind her parents’ backs to go from a 32B and a 32DD when she was just 18 years old. She told Fabulous back in 2020: “When I woke up, I just cried. I’d asked the surgeon for the C cup implants but they’d put in the bigger ones and said it’d ‘save me cash in the long run as they knew I’d want them done again’, but I hated them as soon as I saw them, they were massive.”
“All I want is 18-year-old Laura’s boobs back before surgery, but I know that is impossible.” After struggling with shooting pains in her left breast, Laura went under the knife again to have her implants changed but she still wasn’t pleased with the results.
