Love Island’s Jessie Wynter opens up on marriage and baby plans: ‘Will is so eager for kids’

Jessie Wynter “fell in love” during the winter series of Love Island in 2023 when she met Will Young, fast forward a year and the couple have big plans for the future.

Jessie, 27, made her TV debut back in 2019 when she starred in the Love Island Australia spin-off series which she described as “wild” and “the craziest experience of my whole entire life”.

Taking another shot at love, Jessie entered the Love Island villa for the second time as a bombshell during series nine where she met Will Young, a farmer from Buckinghamshire and they quickly became inseparable.

They won the hearts of the nation and finished the show in fifth place, just days away from the final.

A year after their love story began, Jessie spoke exclusively to OK! from her Australian home about their plans for the future, including buying a house, babies and a wedding.

She shared: “We’ve been saving for a house for the last few months”, before quickly revealing: “Will definitely wants a baby I’m not going to lie.

“But I’ve said to Will, we’re not having a baby until we have a house, so that’s an incentive for him to save for a house.”

With the thoughts of babies on the cards, the conversation turned to marriage to which Jessie revealed: “Will is so eager for marriage and a baby, I think he wants a baby before marriage.

“But for me, I’m not your stereotypical girl who wants a ring, I say no, I want a house deposit over a ring, please.

“I’m tunnel vision on setting myself up with a house, a wedding, I think will come down the track when we’re living in a very stable way.”

As Jessie candidly said a baby is more likely to happen before a wedding, she jokingly added: “Will is trying his absolute hardest to get that wedding first.”

When asked if they’ll live in Australia or the UK, Jessie told us: “We would be looking in the UK, I have a house down here in Australia, in Tasmania so we always have that to come back to, but in the UK we’re looking at getting set up, which will be nice and making sure it’s nice and close to the farm – that’s the dream.”

Jessie added that they’re also looking at launching a podcast together and “elevating” their YouTube channel.

Speaking about their time Down Under, Jessie said: “I’ll be coming back to the UK very soon, I’ve just been spending time with my family in Australia, who absolutely adore Will and I think he loves them a lot too.

“He’s actually spent a lot of the summer with my brother and my dad so it’s been amazing. But it just blows my mind how well we both work with each other’s families, even though we’re from the other side of the world.”

She continued: “Will and I will be back on the farm and Will is getting me involved in lambing season.” Jessie confessed to being “too scared” last year to get involved in this particular process on the farm.

She candidly added: “I’ve been in the family for a year now, so I’ve got to up my game on the farm.”
