Macdonald-Cartier Bridge construction will result in lane closures starting next week

At all times, at least two lanes will remain open to traffic in alternating directions and only one sidewalk will be closed at a time.

Prepare for construction and potential delays on the Macdonald-Cartier Bridge from May 23 to 29 as maintenance crews upgrade the connection from Ottawa to Gatineau across the Ottawa River.

Public Services and Procurement Canada announced Friday that there would be lane and sidewalk closures at varied times over those seven days. At all times at least two lanes will remain open to traffic in alternating directions, and only one sidewalk will be closed at a time.

The work will take place between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on May 23, 24, 27, 28 and 29, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on May 25 and from 12 noon to 9 p.m. on May 26.

Weather conditions could alter the schedule.
