A 29-year-old man has been charged with hate-motivated offences in relation to harassment and a threatening call to a religious leader, Ottawa police said.
At about 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 3, officers began an investigation after receiving a complaint, and the suspect was arrested the next day, police said in a news release.

He was scheduled to appear in court Monday. No other details were released.

“We continue to encourage anyone who witnesses or experiences such incidents to report them to police,” the release stated. “We will prosecute those who commit hate crimes to the full extent of the law. Hate has no place in our city.”
