When it comes to accessorising, a great handbag is the holy grail. Both stylish and practical, your bag can be the finishing touch to pretty much any outfit, and can take a look from basic to chic in seconds.
Although we all have a designer bag or two that we’ve been coveting, our budgets don’t always stretch as far as we’d like. That’s why as soon as we spotted this Mango Jacquard Shoulder Bag, £35.99 here, we knew it was going to become a staple in our wardrobe thanks to its resemblance to Gucci’s GG Retro Mini Leather-Trimmed Printed Coated-Canvas Shoulder Bag, £865 here, but without the designer price tag,

Gucci’s crescent shaped bag was inspired by the brand’s vintage designs, and Mango’s new launch has plenty of similar design details that give it a similar look without breaking the bank. Just like the Gucci version, Mango’s bag has a rounded, crescent moon shaped design with a short adjustable shoulder strap made from brown faux leather.
It also has a matching faux leather trim and a woven and is made from a woven jacquard material that has a similar finish to the Gucci bag’s canvas fabric. The bag also features an all-over logo print with a subtle diamond pattern that’s similar to Gucci’s iconic multi-logo ‘GG supreme’ design and comes in the same beige and brown colour combination.

Mango’s bag measures 13” long, 45” high and 36” wide, making it deceptively roomy – the perfect addition to both daytime and evening outfits. Style it with wide leg jeans, trainers and an oversized knit for running errands or heading to brunch during the day, or pair with a classic slip dress and kitten heels for a more nighttime-ready look.
If you still want a designer label but without splurging quite as much as you would on the Gucci version, Coach’s Aria Shoulder Bag In Signature Jacquard has been reduced from £425 to £279 here in the brand’s sale. It also features a similar crescent moon-shaped design and brown and beige logo print, with a brown leather shoulder strap and piping all giving it a similar look to both Gucci and Mango’s shoulder bag.

Mango isn’t the only place we’ve spotted some great affordable alternatives to designer bags lately. Marks and Spencer also launched its new Faux Leather Ruched Clutch Bag, £29.50 here, that rivals the iconic Bottega Veneta The Pouch Large Gathered Leather Clutch, £2,330 here.
