Meghan Markle has shared her daughter Lilibet’s adorable nickname and praised her husband, Prince Harry, for being a ‘hands-on dad’. The Duchess of Sussex revealed this during her speech at the South by Southwest Festival on Friday, March 8, where Harry was cheering her on from the front row.
The Duchess made a powerful appearance at the festival in Austin, Texas as she participated in a keynote speech called Breaking Barriers, Shaping Narratives: How Women Lead On and Off the Screen.
Joining Meghan on the panel were journalist Katie Couric, actress Brooke Shields, and diversity equity and inclusion consultant at Peoplism, Nancy Wang Yuen. During the discussion, Meghan opened up about the online bullying she has faced and also gave us a glimpse into her family life.

While talking about the bullying and abuse she has suffered on social media, Meghan sweetly disclosed the nickname she uses for Princess Lilibet, her youngest child. She mentioned that the “bulk of the bullying and abuse” she experienced online “was when I was pregnant with Archie and with Lili”.
This brief comment seems to reveal Meghan’s affectionate nickname for her little one.

Meghan then questioned how anyone could do that to someone during such a “tender and special time.” Discussing how much of the online hate she received was from other women, she added: “It’s women completely spewing that to other women and I cannot make sense of that.”
Talking about how hard it is when you have a baby, Meghan said: “And you just think about that and really wrap your head around what people would be so hateful. It’s not catty, it’s cruel, why you would do that? Certainly when you’re pregnant and you have a newborn.”

Elsewhere in her speech while on the panel, Meghan even gushed over her husband Prince Harry, whom she married in 2018.
The Duchess said: “When you’re a new mom, it is a really vulnerable time. Even just the lack of sleep.. it can also be dizzying for them to see this perfect portrayal of motherhood. He [Harry] is such a hands-on dad and supporter of me and my family.”
The Duke of Sussex accompanied his wife to Texas, with them enjoying a date night together the evening prior to the keynote speech.
