In a prepared statement, the director of transit service delivery and rail operations for the City of Ottawa said the bus was servicing a Route 19 stop on St. Laurent, near the intersection with Belfast Road and close by the OC Transpo headquarters, when the motorcycle made contact just after 12 noon.

“The Ottawa Police Service cleared the bus to leave the scene at approximately 12:35 p.m.,” Troy Charter’s statement said. “As with all collisions, OC Transpo will conduct an internal investigation and compile a collision report.”
Details on the condition of the motorcyclist were not directly available from the Ottawa Paramedic Service, but CTV News Ottawa said paramedics reported the rider had been taken to a hospital trauma centre as a precaution because of muscle and skeletal pain, though his injuries were not considered life-threatening.
The location of Tuesday’s collision is just a short distance south of the intersection of St. Laurent and Tremblay Road, where last week a 26-year-old pedestrian died after she was struck by an OC Transpo R1 replacement bus.
