Once an iconic staple of 90’s teatime telly, Neighbours star Scott Michaelson was the subject of many teen girls dreams when he starred in the Aussie soap as surfer hunk Brad Willis.
Delighting audiences between 1991 and 1993, the talented star became a household name with his trademark blonde locks and skills on a surfboard, yet despite his skyrocketing success, Scott decided too swap the bright lights of a soap career for a far more private vocation away from the cameras and the limelight.
Now over 30 years on since his soap debut, Scott has admitted that he never once regretted his decision to step away from acting and has instead found success as both a talent manager and as a real estate agent in the decades since.

Now aged 52, the successful entrepreneur is enjoying the high life with his own business, Smile Elite, where he manages top real estate agents.
In addition, he previously co-owned a pub in St Kilda, opened Melbourne’s very first solarium tanning salon, and if that wasn’t enough, he even developed a skincare range that was awarded Skincare Brand of the Year in 2009!
But how exactly did Scott move from being a 90’s pin-up to boasting such a wide and varied selection of successful businesses?

According to the star, it wasn’t a tough decision in the slightest, as his starring role on Neighbours had left him feeling as if he no longer had control over his life or his trajectory to fame.
Speaking to Woman’s Day, Scott revealed: “ I wasn’t happy with not being able to control my own destiny and wanted a sense of security around my future.
“You’re always at the behest of someone else in the entertainment industry. I just felt that people who control their own destinies seemed a lot mot content with their lives,” he then continued.

Determined to take control of his future, Scott instead stepped away from acting to become a talent agent, a vocation he appeared to be highly successful at, as he signed a number of stars including fellow Neighbours actress Holly Vallance.
After meeting the star in the late 90’s, Scott was instrumental in helping to secure her a role on Neighbours, while also having a hand in her subsequent music career.
Initially things appeared to be going well between the pair, but sadly their lucrative business partnership was not to last, as Holly was forced to hand over more than $350,000 to Scott after a court ordered she pay her ex-manager damages for a breach of contract in 2003.

The legal battle began when Holly decided to drop her manager, 15 months before their three year contract was due to expire, as Holly felt Scott wasn’t equipped to handle her skyrocketing success.
Following the legal battle, Scott stepped away from talent management and instead turned his attention to running a number of businesses, before finally launching Smile Elite.
