One man seriously injured in early morning assault Monday, police say

A man has been arrested for allegedly assaulting another man and leaving him with serious injuries Monday morning.

Ottawa Police said in a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, that officers were called to the 100 block of Forward Avenue in Mechanicsville around 4:20 a.m.

A male victim was located at the scene with serious injuries and was transported to hospital, police said.

Police said the suspect was found during the on-scene investigation and arrested. No further details on the suspect have been released as of early Monday afternoon.

At approximately 4:20 am, officers were called to the 100 block of Forward Ave in response to an assault.

On-scene, a male victim was located with serious injuries. He was transported by paramedics to a local hospital.
