The OPP mobile crisis response team and other officers, along with the Carleton Place Fire Department, responded to the scene.

“Three officers waded chest-deep into the strong current to bring the young woman to safety,” police said in a release.

All were fine after the incident.

The young woman was transported to hospital by Lanark County paramedics.

“Thank you to these officers who, without hesitation, bravely took action to ensure this person’s safety,” detachment commander Insp. Kerlous Tawdrous said in the release.
