Strictly Come Dancing star Oti Mabuse has asked for help as she addresses “mummy paranoia” after welcoming her first child. The dancer, 33, shared the exciting news that she had welcomed a baby girl with her husband Marius Lepure on Christmas morning last year.
Oti went through a tough labour as her daughter, whose name has not been shared, was born prematurely. She was placed in an incubator and spent six weeks in hospital due to suffering from jaundice.
The TV star has since kept fans updated on her parenting journey and has been openly candid when it comes to the difficulties that motherhood can bring. Taking to Instagram on Sunday, 31 March, Oti asked her followers for advice as she provided her latest update.

Posting two selfies, the doting mum wrote the lengthy caption: “Ok mummies I have a few questions – would love any suggestions/advice. This is the face of a mum who should be beaming but I think I’m even more tired.
“Baby is sleeping so brilliantly every night this week 9pm to 9am (what an angel) but I’m not… because 1. I still have to pump every 2-4 hours at night if I don’t I will explode 2. I’m worried if I don’t pump at night as she’s asleep long hours now without a feed my supply will be less 3. All that sleep makes me even more worried because SIDS stays in the back of my mind, on a daily so I’m constantly waking up to check if she’s still breathing.”
The doting mum asked how to “control my mummy paranoia?”

She ended it by saying: “So how do I enjoy getting sleep again but not lose my supply and learn to control my mummy paranoia? Oh yes, happy Easter.”
The Strictly star was inundated with support from fellow parents, with many offering advice. One wrote: “Don’t worry about pumping unless you’re uncomfortable. Your body will up and reduce your supply depending on demand. It won’t reduce it enough to impact on any other time. I don’t think that fear ever goes away but you somehow sleep slightly better the older they get.”
Actress Lydia West offered her support and commented: “Oh mummy I feel you! We’re in this together.”

Celebrity makeup artist, Pauline Briscoe also said: “Aww Oti sorry you’re having a hard time. It’s a tough journey. I only breast fed for about 2 months as I went back to work pretty much straight away. You might want to try a bit of formula milk now especially as your a working mumma,”
Another wrote: “This sounds like every new mum, especially when breastfeeding. Be kind to yourself. It’s the hardest thing you will ever do, but remember it won’t be like this forever.”
