The Ottawa Police Service is asking anyone with doorbell cam or other surveillance video showing suspicious activity in a Vanier neighbourhood to contact the arson unit in connection with the investigation of a fire in the back shed of an apartment building early Thursday.

Reported at 1:40 a.m., the fire spread from the shed of an apartment building in the 100 block of Lavergne Street to three nearby vehicles. There were no reported injuries.

In a news release Friday, Ottawa police said they were looking for evidence of suspicious activity in the area between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Thursday.
Anyone with information about the case was asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Arson Unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 4587, or by email at [email protected].
