Two people, a man and a woman, have been charged in connection with a shooting early Saturday on Baseline Road in Ottawa’s west end.
Police said they were called to the 2500 block of Baseline, near the intersection with Pinecrest Road, just before 7 a.m. after a report of shots. No one was injured, and there was no known risk to the public, police said in a news release issued Saturday afternoon.

The man was charged with attempted murder and a number of other offences, including discharging a firearm and possessing a firearm while prohibited.
A female companion faced charges including being in a vehicle knowing there was a gun in it and possession of a restricted or prohibited firearm.
Both were being held in custody, police said Saturday.
