Ottawa police seeking to ID suspect in February vehicle robbery

A driver was assaulted and their car was stolen on Queen Street just after midnight on Feb. 20, police said Tuesday.

The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect involved in a robbery in the 300 block of Queen Street on Feb. 20.

At approximately 12:20 a.m., the lone suspect entered an underground parking garage, assaulted the victim and stole their vehicle. The vehicle was recovered a short time later.

The suspect is described as a white male in his early 50s, standing six feet (183 centimetres) tall and bald with a goatee. At the time of the incident, he wore a dark jacket, dark shirt and dark pants, a police news release on Tuesday said.
