Ottawa woman killed in crash on Highway 17 near Pembroke

Police say the crash occurred around 8 p.m. Saturday night near Forest Lea Road in the Ottawa Valley.

Ontario police are investigating a fatal crash on Highway 17 near Pembroke.

Police say the crash occurred around 8 p.m. Saturday night near Forest Lea Road in the Ottawa Valley, when an SUV hit a stopped transport truck.

A 29-year-old woman, a passenger in the SUV, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say two other people were transported to hospital but were not injured, and the driver of the transport truck was also not hurt.

Ontario Provincial Police technical collision investigators and collision reconstructionists are investigating, police say.
