Ottawa police have charged a Para Transpo driver with sexual assault and sexual exploitation of a person with a disability.
Aung Thowai, 62, was charged following an investigation by the Ottawa Police’s Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit into an alleged assault that occurred on January 23.

Police allege the accused drove an adult female passenger away from her typical route, parked and sexually assaulted her. The incident was reported the next day.
Thowai was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday.
Investigators are concerned there may be other victims. Anyone with information is asked to call the Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5944. Tips may also be sent electronically to [email protected].
Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
