Six people, including four children, were found dead late Wednesday at a home on Berrigan Drive in Barrhaven, Ottawa police confirmed Thursday.

The victims have not been identified but Sri Lanka’s high commission in Ottawa says they were a family of Sri Lankan nationals.

In an interview, Ottawa Police Services chief Eric Stubbs said investigators are working to determine the relationship between the suspect and victims, as well as any relationship between the six victims.

He confirmed a family was living in the home.

He did not confirm the manner of death, but did say it was a mass killing.
