The Ottawa police have asked for the public’s help as they attempt to identify a suspect following a string of commercial thefts on March Road.
The West Criminal Investigations Section said the thefts took place in the 800 block of March Road between Jan. 24 and Feb. 2, and that a lone male would enter a store, request items from behind the counter and then flee on foot once he had taken possession of the items.

The person, who police said may speak with an accent, was described as having a thin build, dark hair and facial hair. He was wearing something different at the time of each theft, police said.
Anyone with information concerning the case was asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service West Criminal Investigations Section at 613-236-1222, extension 2666.
Anonymous tips can be submitted by calling Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or at crimestoppers.ca.
