Ottawa police are seeking public assistance in identifying a suspect in an assault on May 3 in the 700 block of Somerset Street West.
In a release, police said the assault occurred at around 11:30 a.m. following “an interaction” between the victim and suspect.

The suspect became aggressive and assaulted the victim. The suspect then fled westbound on Somerset Street West in a new model, white SUV.

The victim sustained serious injuries.
Police described the suspect as an Asian male, about 40 years old, He was about five feet 10 inches (178 cm) tall, with a stocky build and short black hair.
During the incident he was seen wearing a grey sweater, dark blue pants and sunglasses.
Anyone with information about the suspect’s identity, or dashcam or other surveillance footage of the event is asked to called Ottawa police central division criminal investigation services at 613-236-1222, ext. 5166.
