Police seek to identify suspect in two robberies

In both occasions the suspect entered the store armed with a firearm and demanded for cash and cigarettes.

Ottawa police are seeking public assistance to identify a suspect responsible for two robberies in the 1900 block of Trim Road.

The first occurred Jan. 7 and about 5 a.m., the second was at about 3:30 a.m. Jan. 10.

In both occasions the suspect entered the store armed with a firearm and demanded for cash and cigarettes.

He then left the area on foot.

There were no injuries in either robbery.

The suspect is described as Caucasian, about 30 years old, about five feet 10 inches (178 cm) tall, with a large build and a brown moustache.

In the first robbery, he wore a black snowmobile suit with a yellow/orange construction jacket over it and a black face covering.

In the second robbery, he wore a black snowmobile suit, ski goggles, a headlamp, a black knapsack, and was also seen carrying a shovel when leaving the area.

Anyone with information is asked to call the OPS robbery unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 5116.
