The Ontario Provincial Police are hoping to speak to the driver of a white BMW as part of an investigation into the death of a pedestrian Saturday night on Highway 417.
The westbound lanes of the 417 near Bronson Avenue were closed for several hours after a 25-year-old woman was struck as she walked on the highway near the Rochester Avenue ramp just before 7 p.m., police say. She died later in hospital. Police don’t know why she was on the highway.

“While two drivers remained at the scene, the OPP is looking to speak with the driver of a white BMW that was also involved in the collision. The driver may not have been aware of the nature of the incident,” the OPP said in a media release Sunday morning.
Investigators are also asking for anyone who may have dashcam video of the incident to contact Ottawa OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
