The RCMP Musical Ride Centre on Sandridge Road in Ottawa’s east end opened the stable doors Saturday for kids of all ages to check out the popular horses and to meet the riders before the team sets out on its annual cross-country tour.
The massive Hanoverian show animals seemed to enjoy the attention as much as the visitors and there were lineups for photos with the horses and the riders and other attractions.

The open house also featured stable tours and farrier demonstrations of hoof care for the Musical Ride horses.
There was no admission charge to the event, but visitors were asked for donations for the Ottawa Food Bank.
