Looking for something to keep the children occupied during the post-Christmas break from school?
Geoff Cass, owner of the Bank Street music venue/school Red Bird, has a solution — a series of family concerts featuring some of Canada’s top children’s entertainers taking place on the cafe’s stage during daytime hours from Jan. 2-4, 2024.

In addition to shows by the Ottawa-based acts Jeremy Fisher (who’s known as the tunesmith behind the animated TV series, Jeremy and Jazzy), and Hey Buster (a country-folk outfit that includes puppets Whiskers and Buster), the series spotlights Sharon Hampson, of Sharon, Lois and Bram fame. Following the death of Lois and the retirement of Bram, Sharon now performs with her daughter, Randi Hampson. They will lead a singalong of the legendary trio’s greatest hits that’s sure to include Skinnamarink, One Elephant, The Muffin Man and many more.
Here is the schedule:
Jan. 2 – Hey Buster, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Jan. 3 – Sharon and Randi sing Sharon, Lois and Bram, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Jan. 4 – Jeremy Fisher, 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Tickets are $25 plus HST, on sale Wednesday at redbirdlive.ca.
