Red cowboy boots are the must-have shoe for spring

Red cowboy boots are the must-have shoe for spring

Thanks to Beyonce, the cowboycore fashion trend has taken off and nothing will give you the western vibe more than a pair of cowboy boots. With red being one of the season’s hottest colours, it’s only natural that these two trends would merge to create the ultimate statement shoe cherry red cowboy boots.

As a huge fan of a good pair of cowboy boots, this is a trend I can fully support. I’ve got my eye on the perfect affordable pair to nail the look; PrettyLittleThing’s Cherry Red Pu Point Toe Low Block Heel Stitched Western Boots, available for £38 here.

These boots have all the classic features of a traditional pair of western boots, including a block Cuban heel, pointed toes, and a wide leg shaft that allows them to be worn over or under any style of trousers. They also feature the signature patterned stitching in a contrasting white colour, with pull tabs at the top for easy wear.

The boots are also an ideal length that will flatter any body type, as they stop below the knee which helps to elongate your legs. This also means they’ll pair well with almost any outfit, allowing you to style them in various ways to create a bold, statement-making look, reports the Mirror.

I’m a big fan of pairing cowboy boots with denim shorts – ideally ones that are loose-fitting with frayed hems. Team them with a simple white tee and a neckerchief for an authentic country look, or go for an oversized band T-shirt and aviator sunglasses for a cooler, edgier vibe.

Cowboy boots also pair well with midi and maxi hemlines. I can totally see these working well with a floral midi dress on cooler spring days or with a mesh maxi skirt that allows the colour to pop through.

They’re also perfect with a denim midi skirt another of spring’s biggest fashion trends or even a pair of leather trousers or a knitted dress in the colder months, proving they’ll have plenty of longevity in your wardrobe.

The PLT boots are currently available in sizes 3-8, and if red’s not your thing, you can also get them in cream or metallic silver. They’re made from faux leather with a slightly patent finish, and have a subtle zip fastening on the inside which makes them even easier to slip on and off.

If you’re more into real leather for your footwear, these UO Red Leather Dallas Cowboy Boots, £82 here, from Urban Outfitters are a fab alternative. They have a slightly faded, lived-in look that gives them a cool vintage vibe, and are made from 100% real leather.
