However, if the perfume discounts still aren’t great enough to bring your favourite scent down to a reasonable price, we’re here to point you in the direction of a cheap high-street buy that shoppers say is comparable to Dolce & Gabbana’s Devotion EDP 50ml, £92 here: River Island’s Amber & Vanilla 100ml, £16 here.
Posting to Facebook’s Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group, one user shares the comparison: “Bargain! Identical to D&G Devotion and lasts ages”.
The post has quickly gained hundreds of likes and dozens of comments from perfume lovers who are keen to get their hands on the vanilla-y scent.

“Watch how many of these sell now!” writes one Facebook user.
A second says: “It was £10 on sale in-store but still showing up as the usual price of £16 online,” while a third adds: “My daughter has this and it smells so nice”.
If you haven’t had a whiff of either the River Island scent or the Dolce & Gabbana perfume, they’re comparable in the fact that both heavily feature notes of vanilla. River Island’s, however, blends amber with rich pepper for a richer scent, while D&G’s offering takes a citrusy turn with notes of candied lemon and orange blossom.
“Initial spray I smell lemon cake, then after 20/30 mins it melts into your skin and the vanilla/panettone really comes through. The vanilla smells like Lush’s Vanilla, but not as heady. Overall, it smells like a creamy lemon cake, lasts 3-4 hours on me,” one reviewer says of the D&G perfume on Look Fantastic.
