ADHA appoints new board chair
The Australian Digital Health Agency has assigned Lyn McGrath to their board’s chair.
McGrath has been a non-executive member of the ADHA Board for over seven years. She has also served as chair of the agency’s Audit and Risk Committee.
She will be replacing Dr Elizabeth Deveny, who has been with the organisation since its inception.
“It’s with great enthusiasm that I take up the role of Chair of the [ADHA] Board. I look forward to continuing to advance the national digital health agenda and building on the momentum that has already been achieved under Dr Deveny’s leadership,” McGrath said about her three-year appointment, which begins on 29 September.
Orion Health announces Pieces AI integration
Auckland-based Orion Health has tied up with Pieces Technologies to deliver patient summaries in real time using AI.
Based on a media release, Pieces is integrating its AI technology with Orion Health’s Orchestral Health Intelligence Platform to enable the automatic generation of wide-view patient summaries and clinical insights.
It has been reported that the Pieces AI is able to produce “one million clinical summaries used in complex real-world clinical environments with minimum error.”
Te Aka Whai Ora backs rural RPM pilots
Te Aka Whai Ora has chipped in NZ$2.3 million ($1.4 million) to deliver four remote patient monitoring pilot projects in rural communities.
The whānau-led pilots will use devices and technology provided by Te Whatu Ora to enable the remote health monitoring of whānau living with long-term conditions.
According to a media release, the projects aim to reduce the rates of hospitalisation and ED visits while also empowering whānau to manage their own health and well-being.
