Each year as the weather warms up, we see a return of warmer blonde colours replacing the darker, cooler shades from winter, and although last year was all about the return of platinum blonde, this year it seems we’re ready for something softer and warmer. If you want to get the look yourself, you’re in luck, because it’s one of the easier blonde shades to accomplish. Unlike ash tones which are notoriously tricky to reach when you have a darker base, the warmer buttercup colour is much easier to achieve, and for those who are already blonde, all it takes is a subtle shift in tone.
To get the look at home, Michelle suggests using the Jerome Russell Bblonde Ultra Blonding Kit, £7.99 here, to lift the colour of your hair. Depending on how dark a shade you’re starting with, it might take a few lightning sessions to get your hair lifted enough to the right blonde.

Once your hair is finally blonde enough, the right toner is the secret to nailing Sabrina’s buttercup colour, and which one you choose all depends on how susceptible your hair is to brassiness.
