She might have an A-list budget at her fingertips, but it turns out Scarlett Johansson is a fan of one particular serum that won’t break the bank. The actress is said to swear by The Inkey List’s 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum, and you can currently snap it up for £4.99 here in Amazon’s Spring Deal Days sale.
Revealed to be the go-to serum for Scarlett by celebrity make-up artist Frankie Boyd on Harper’s Bazaar, she said the movie star favours products from The Inkey List, with the serum being the brand’s hero product. Even without the discount the serum is usually very reasonably priced at £7.99, and has been getting glowing reviews (pardon the pun) from shoppers who said it left their skin looking plumper, smoother and more hydrated after just a couple of uses.

Hyaluronic acid serum is a staple in almost every beauty routine thanks to its hydrating properties. It’s capable of holding up to 1000x its weight in water, and binds moisture to your skin, leaving it hydrated and plumper-looking.
The moisture magnet is naturally found in your skin, but by adding an extra dose of it to your skincare routine it’ll begin working across multiple layers of your skin, helping retain as much hydration as possible. The serum also helps smooth your skin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and leaving your complexion looking younger and bouncier.
It has a lightweight gel-like texture that blends easily into your skin, and you only need a pea-sized amount to cover your face. Apply it after your cleanser and toner and before your moisturiser or oils to help trap hydration into your skin so it can work its magic all day.

It’s not just Scarlett that’s a big fan of the serum, with Amazon shoppers also leaving great reviews for the super serum.
One said: “I really like this product for hydration, especially in the colder months. It doesn’t react with my sensitive skin and layers well with toners and other serums. I use this product on damp skin as my first bit of skincare. While using it at night, I can see that my skin is smoother in the morning. For the money, bearing in mind for each application you use a pea sized amount, I think it is quite good value for money. Overall, this is a solid choice of hyaluronic acid serum for those on the market at a good price.”
Another wrote: “I have combination skin (very oily t zone, normal cheeks, dry neck) and have tried *so many* products to get the oiliness under control while keeping my skin looking glowy and fresh. I had nearly given up, I was starting to think it wasn’t possible! Even the Inkey omega water cream on its own still left me feeling slightly oily and then very oily after a few hours. I finally decided to give this a go with the omega water underneath. My skin feels plump, smooth and hydrated. It looks glowy and fresh with no oiliness! My neck and cheeks feel the same way, which is a bonus—no need for additional products!”

Scarlett is also no stranger to a great skincare routine, and although she’s a fan of The Inkey List’s Hyaluronic Acid Serum, she also has her very own range of beauty products. She launched The Outset back in 2022, and each of its products are cruelty-free and designed to be radically gentle on your skin – perfect for sensitive and stubborn complexions.
One of our favourite products from her collection is the Restorative Niacinamide Night Cream, £54 here, which acts as both skincare and a self care staple. It not only nourishes and plumps your skin, but also helps to improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation, fine lines and wrinkles – all without having to put up with the dryness or irritation that can occur when you use retinols which give the same results. The best part? It does it all while you sleep.
