St Vincent’s Health is set to adopt a single cloud-hosted EMR system for its private hospitals in Australia.
It recently announced in a media release that it awarded a contract to US-based MEDITECH to implement the Expanse EMR across its 10 private hospitals in Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland. It will be deployed through MEDITECH as a Service, the subscription model of Expanse.
MEDITECH said the web-based EMR platform will allow hospital staff to access real-time patient information that can be personalised to their workflows. It will also provide them with the capability to be fully mobile, retrieve patient records, examine results, submit orders, and document care.
“With this robust EMR foundation, we will be able to add even more advanced clinical functionality over time,” added St Vincent’s Private Hospital Division CEO Patricia O’Rourke.
The organisations are currently in the planning and design phase of the project; the go-lives are phased and planned for the end of this year and early 2025.
