When it comes to our makeup, we’re always on the lookout for a handy tip or trick that’ll not only make our products apply better, but will also help save us some time, too.
No one knows the importance of making your daily routine run more smoothly than Stacey Solomon, who is known for sharing her clever life hacks with her followers that help make her life as a busy mum a little less stressful.
One of the most recent hacks the mum of five shared on her TikTok was how to apply foundation to get a smooth, flawless base, and not only is it quick and easy to do, but it’s also free – and spoiler alert; it relies on tap water.

Stacey starts her video by saying she wanted to share the hack because it’s a ‘revelation’ as she showed a close up of her skin, joking “It’s got loads of texture, lots of different colours going on, I’ve even got some cool veins. Do you know what I love most about my skin? It’s got loads of hair on it.”
To start her routine, Stacey preps her skin with a primer, saying: “Base is so important, I just use a velvet matte one because I like being matte, I’m not really a fan of the dewy skin movement at the moment” as she applies the primer to her skin with her fingers.
Although she doesn’t share which one she uses, Stacey’s known for her love of ICONIC London products, so we think it’s a pretty safe bet that she’s using the Velvet Smooth Pore-Refining Primer, £24 here, to help reduce the appearance of texture and shine.
Stacey’s ‘revolutionary’ hack is soaking her beauty blender before using it

Next up is her ‘revolutionary’ hack, with Stacey admitting: “Sometimes if I’m in a rush I’ll just apply it with my hands and rub it in, but if I want it to look really nice and smooth this is what I do.”
She starts by adding a few drops of her ICONIC London Super Smoother Blurring Skin Tint, £28 here, directly onto a makeup brush and swiping it onto her cheeks, before grabbing a bowl of water (she does say using your tap will do) and soaking a Beautyblender, £15.75 here (was £17.50), in the water. “Like soak it, really get it in there then squeeze it out” Stacey adds, before using the damp sponge to buff her foundation seamlessly into her skin.
Fans joked the hack was old news, with Stacey saying she was ‘gutted’ she hadn’t discovered it

Now, we know what you’re thinking – this isn’t exactly a new concept. And Stacey’s fans agreed, commenting: “Babes we’re doing this already” with a crying laughing face, to which Stacey replied: “I really thought I’d discovered this, gutted!”
However one follower wrote: “Lol I never knew it had to be wet! So out of the millions that already knew this. You’ve helped me lol” whilst another added: “Thank you, my face now has concussion babe, but looks good.”
Whether this is old news to you or you’re amongst those who also found the hack revolutionary, there’s one thing we can all agree on – we’re absolutely loving Stacey’s TikTok era.
