Confirmed as the eighth contestant taking part in 2023’s Strictly Come Dancing series, Adam Thomas is set to be a massive hit.
Likely to be this year’s hunk of the show, we predict great things for him even though he hilariously admits he “can’t dance to save himself!”
The Thomas brother is ready to hit the dancefloor with a bang, but just who is Adam Thomas behind-the-scenes? OK! takes a deep dive into the cheeky Manc to find out a little more about the star who will be foxtrotting into our livingrooms every weekend.
The former Emmerdale star has already been on our telly for years, even winning a Best Soap Newcomer at the TV Choice awards for his explosive storylines in the soap.

Joining in 2009, he played Adam Barton for seven years but fans watched with shock at his exit storyline.
Character Adam, escaped a prison sentence for the murder of evil Emma Barton, despite his mum Moira actually killing her. Viewers watched as he confessed to the crime to protect his mum but on the way to court for sentencing, Cain and Aaron Dingle ambushed the police van, letting him run free.
After his final scenes in 2018 he reprised his role as a big fan favourite Donte Charles in Waterloo Road – this time as a teacher. Originally a bad boy in the BBC show, Adam’s character evolved to become a senior in the infamous school.

Another addition to his new stint on the show was the joining of his son, Teddy, 8, and niece, Scarlett, 14. In a mass of confusion – prepare yourself – Adam who is Scarlett’s real life uncle plays her dad in the soap, as well as fictional (and real) dad to Teddy.
As well as being a superstar actor and incredible father and husband, Strictly isn’t the first time we’ve seen Adam take part in a reality show. The cheeky chap also had us in fits of laughter appearing on I’m a Celebrity in 2016, landing third place. The 34-year-old was notorious for his fear of spiders and become close friends with footballer Wayne Bridge and Joel Dommett during his time in camp.

His popularity saw him hired as the host of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here Now! alongside Joel Dommett and Emily Atack, but unfortunately the spin-off show was cancelled shortly after.
A Jack of all trades, Adam announced in 2018 that he was having a change in career and landed himself the role of property executive for a luxury realtor group based in Manchester.
Fans adore how head-over-heels in love Adam is with wife Caroline, and OK! were lucky enough to exclusively share a part in his stunning wedding in a gorgeous Cheshire country manor wedding back in August 2017.
The stunning wedding of Adam and Caroline in 2017 was jam-packed with love, laughter and lots of celebrity friends and family
Captioned at the time as: “The best day of our lives… Mrs and Mrs”, the duo looked happier than ever as they marched through confetti and down the aisle as famous friends, mostly from Emmerdale, and family cheered in celebration.
The couple – who share 8-year-old son Teddy and 5-year old daughter Elsie-Rose – have been together for 15 years and are childhood sweethearts, eventually getting engaged in Dubai in 2015.

The husband and wife moved into their dream family home last year. Sharing his excitement to fans on social media at the time, Adam explained that they visited the house spontaneously and unexpectedly “fell in love” with the property.
He even shared a sweet video of Caroline confirming the sale over the phone while Caroline struggled to fight back happy tears.

He said on Instagram: “Does anyone else go on Rightmove flicking through houses you can’t afford … thinking one day!!
“Well that’s what me and @carolinethomas23 do but one day we decided to go and view one, with no intentions of actually buying it haha but we fell in love!!!!” Adam explained to his followers.
The house, which boasts a grand staircase and quirky patterned decor is enormous and has the most impressive sprawling gardens to the rear of the property, complete with fountain and summer house.
The pair were so excited, they set up a joint Instagram account dedicated to their home, @ourthomashome, which now has 103k followers, where they have been sharing updates and stunning neutral pics around their new pad.
Sadly, Adam, who has equally famous brothers Ryan and Scott Thomas, tragically lost his dad Dougie Thomas in November 202, aged 72.

The much-loved Manchester music promoter was the lead singer of the 1970s band Dougie James and the Soul Train, even touring with The Jackson Five.
Fans learned more about his dad when the siblings joined forces for Absolutely India: Mancs in Mumbai, which followed the trio of brothers and their dad as they traced their family roots in India.
