The bargain heatless hair curlers taking the Love Island 2024 villa by storm

The heat might be sizzling when it comes to weather and romance in the Love Island villa, but one thing that isn’t heating up is a hair tool. Thanks to the official glam room stockist, Boots, we’ve just found out that the girls are achieving their salon-worthy blowout-like ‘dos courtesy of heatless rollers.

Well, we say heatless, but they can be used in one of two ways – something we’ve discovered from watching the likes of Samantha Kenny and Nicole Samuel get ready at the villa hair station.

Those two love hopefuls have been using Boots Bendy Hair Rollers, £4.50 here andBoots Self Stick Hair Rollers Large, also £4.50 here, to create volume and drama. Samantha likes to add a bit of heat by curling her tresses with a large barreled tong (Beauty Works Molly-Mae Curl Kit, £67.50 here) before setting those curls in the large Velcro rollers.

If you didn’t want to add heat to your hair, however, or if you wanted minimal heat to touch your tresses, you could pop either of these products in your hair once it’s 90% dry and let it set for a few hours. You can also blast it with a hairdryer to speed up the setting process.

To use the bendy hair rollers, a favourite of Samantha’s, comb through a section of hair – thickness depends on the desired curl (the thinner the hair, the tighter the curl) – and then place the roller firmly at the end of your hair and wind up toward the scalp. Secure the roller by bending both ends towards each other.

If you’re a TikTok or a social media user, you’ll know heatless hair curling methods have been having a moment for a few years now. As good hair health becomes increasingly sought-after, many of us are looking for ways to get bouncy curls without having to turn to heated tongs and tools.
