For him, Erode is more than just silk; it’s a place where design is a thoughtful dialogue with time-honoured techniques. Picture silks reflecting nature’s subtleties, cottons narrating tales of sun-drenched fields, and Jamakkalam weaves (a type of hand-woven carpet or blanket originating from Bhavani, a town in the Erode district of Tamil Nadu, India) etched with geometric precision. When Tan France wears their designs, we have to take them seriously. This brand swings between contemporary and streetwear, and their conscious efforts are just the icing on the cake.
Margn
Margn’s Odyssey isn’t about airbrushed perfection or following the beige brigade. They are raw, vibrant, and unfiltered. Filmmaker Chitresh and artist/writer Rohan weave raw stories through their craft, not clothes. Led by a 26-year-old creative whirlwind Nauren, their clothes are edgy but in the most subtle way. From silk shirts to knitted pants, they make most conventional categories but for the slightly unconventional man. The brand also showcased its collection ”A Space Unknow” in Paris during the FW24 season from 17th-21st January 2024.
