The Saturdays’ Mollie King shows off a new ‘luxe-light’ blonde bob at Wimbledon

It was game, set and match for Mollie King and her new hair at Wimbledon’s opening week. The singer-turned-radio host rocked up to the tournament with a hair transformation that was certainly worthy of Centre Court – and it’s seriously making us consider going for the chop too.

Swapping her usual long, mid-toned blonde tresses for a long and blunt bob, Mollie looked perfectly on trend as she paired the fresh hairstyle with a Wimbledon-appropriate white midi dress.

We’re reliably informed by hair experts that Mollie’s exact colour – which she’s also just had refreshed –is called a ‘luxe-light’ shade. Essentially, it’s a take on the ‘expensive blonde’ colour trend we saw everywhere last summer.

As for the long bob, Molly says in a new Instagram Reel that “the heat made me do it”. We can only assume she means the heatwave made her want a lighter and less weighed-down cut. We can’t blame her!

Wondering how to ace Mollie’s Wimbledon luxe blonde colour and lob cut for yourself? Tyler Moore,Live True London’s expert stylist, explains what to ask your hairdresser for and how to style your new lengths once you’ve been for the chop.

“Mollie’s long bob softens her features by sitting just above her shoulders, so ask for a length like this if you’re keen to give the shorter style a feminine touch,” he says. “You’ll want to also ask your hairdresser for a ‘creamy’ blonde shade. To prevent the colour from looking too platinum or frosted, I recommend balancing ashy tones with warmer and creamier ones.

“Despite the colour and upkeep of going blonde, Mollie’s hair still looks healthy. Using a professional quality, high-performance moisturising treatment once or twice a week will help to strengthen hair and protect against any damage from regular colour sessions, all while adding shine.”

And his tips on styling a midi bob like Mollie’s? “To keep hair smooth and in place all day, use a multi-purpose finishing spray. A spray like this is essential for banishing frizz and providing long-lasting hold while making sure hair stays conditioned and healthy.”
