There’s Only One Way to Watch The Iron Claw

preview for Iron Claw Behind-the-Scenes Stunt Video

The hype train for The Iron Claw began pretty early, long before the film’s release, when Zac Efron started showing off the wrestler’s body he had sculpted in order to play real-life fighter Kevin Von Erich. The film, written and directed by Sean Durkin, follows the Von Erich wrestling dynasty, which also includes Kevin’s brothers Kerry (Jeremy Allen White), David (Harris Dickinson) and Mike (Stanley Simon) as their success in the ring in the ’70s and ’80s gives way to tragedy.

Efron, White and Dickinson trained with wrestling legend Chavo Guerrero Jr. in order to be able to accurately portray their moves on-screen, a physically demanding undertaking which Efron described as one of the “most challenging” of his career. But the thing that most viewers will take away from the movie is the emotional impact of Efron’s performance as Kevin weathers a near-unfathomable amount of personal losses.

How can I watch The Iron Claw?

The Iron Claw was released exclusively in theaters in the United States by A24 on December 22, and immediately began to accumulate critical acclaim, including being selected as one of the Top 10 films of the year by the National Board of Review.

When will The Iron Claw hit streaming?

There’s no word yet as to when the movie will be made available to watch on on-demand or streaming services, although we have a pretty good idea of which platform will get first dibs: A24 has recently signed a deal with HBO which allows all of their movies to be viewed on the MAX streaming app.
