In case you missed it, the much-anticipated Sofia Coppola-directed Priscilla movie hit cinemas across the country on New Year’s Day, detailing the life and relationship between Priscilla and Elvis Presley.
Since its release, searches for Priscilla-inspired outfits have gone up by 35%, but there’s one item in particular that has proven to be a major hit with fans – her heart-shaped necklace.
The necklace featured prominently during Priscilla’s teenage years in the film and was based on a real accessory that Priscilla herself wore during her youth after she’d first met – and fell in love with – the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, which featured a gold heart pendant dangling from a black velvet ribbon choker.

In order to keep things as realistic as possible, Cailee Spaeny wore an almost identical version in the film whilst playing the teenage Priscilla, and fans can’t get enough of it with searches for heart necklaces skyrocketing by 45% in the last few days.
To save you the trouble of trawling through shopping site after shopping site, we’ve managed to track down one of the best affordable alternatives to the iconic accessory, and it comes courtesy of high street fave River Island.
The Black Velvet Heart Necklace, £12 here, is the perfect way to mimic Priscilla’s go-to choker necklace, with its black velvet ribbon which fastens with a clasp at the back, and an oversized golden metal heart pendant dangling at the front – just like the iconic one she wore.

With the choker set to be one of the must-have accessories for the start of 2024, it’s no surprise that River Island isn’t the only retailer selling a similar version, as we’ve managed to track down several other similar pieces that will help you live out your Priscilla-inspired aesthetic.
If you prefer a much daintier choker, New Look’s Gold Heart Choker Necklace, £3.99 here, has a slim faux-suede cord that threads through a small gold-toned heart charm at the front, giving you a more understated version of the look.

If you’d rather ditch the choker style but love the overall design of the necklace, New Look also has a Gold Velvet Heart Pendant Necklace, £5.99 here, which still has a black velvet ribbon and chunky gold heart, but in a much longer, pendant-style design rather than a snug fitting choker.
If you prefer a more high-end finish, the 8 Other Reasons Metallic Heart Choker, £24 here (was £39), has a 14k gold-plated metal heart dangling from a multi-layered satin rope that fastens at the back and has both a close-fitting choker rope and longer pendant rope which the heart hangs from, giving it a layered look.
