You’ve probably heard it a hundred times, but it’s important to wear a product containing sunscreen of your face every day – yes, even when it’s cloudy – to reduce the risk of sun damage, and this new launch is one of the best SPFs I’ve tried.
From over-make-up mists to sun creams for sensitive skin, I think that Garnier makes some of the best sunscreens on the high street – they’re great value, really nice textures and easy to incorporate into your skincare routine. And I’m especially obsessed with how the brand’s newest one makes my skin looks.
Garnier Vitamin C Daily UV Brightening Fluid SPF50+, as its long name suggests, combines very high sun protection with a vitamin C derivative to brighten the skin reduce the appearance of dark spots while also defending against the damaging effects of UV rays. Available in two variations – invisible and ‘glow’ – it usually costs £12.99 from retailers such as LookFantastic and Boots, but there’s currently a third off at Superdrug right now, taking the price down to £8.66.

While the invisible formula is completely transparent on the the skin, the ‘glow’ variation gives a very sheer tint to the skin – I like both, but it’s the glow one that I especially love. Lighter even than a tinted moisturiser, it makes my skin look fresher, healthier and more radiant, but like I’ve got nothing at all on your skin.
Garnier claims this this tinted version suits all skin tones, and while I’ve only tested on my own (pale), one Boots customer review does call it “good for black skin”.
It may have only just hit the shops but shoppers have been loving it too, with one even comparing it to another viral glow-giver, Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter.

“Lovely lightly tinted SPF. Gives the effect of e.l.f. Halo Glow/Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter with a tad of bronzer and most importantly SPF 50 protection! Highly recommend this product,” wrote one Boots customer on the website. “I also have very dry, sensitive skin and have had no reaction to this at all. Does not sting eyes at all like I have found with some other SPFs.”
Another review reads: “It has made my skin revived and has given a nice instantaneous glow which has filled me with more confidence when leaving the house. I would definitely recommend and buy it again.”
With spring almost here, now’s the time to incorporate an SPF into your skincare routine if you haven’t already – and I think this Garnier one is definitely worth checking out.
