A 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old girl have been charged with break-and-enter, arson and other offences in connection with fires in Sandy Hill on Feb. 1.
The blazes that struck several residential units in the 100 block of Osgoode Street were reported at about 5:30 a.m. that day.

One resident required treatment for mild smoke inhalation, while firefighters had minor injuries after falling through the floor in one building.

Several residents were displaced and the damage from the fire was estimated in the millions of dollars, the Ottawa Police Service said in a news release on Friday.
An investigation with the Office of the Fire Marshal and Ottawa Fire Services determined that the fires had been intentionally set, the release said.
The 19-year-old man was charged with arson endangering life, arson causing property damage, arson by negligence, breaking and entering, possession of property obtained by crime and three counts of failure to comply with a release order.
He was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
The 17-year-old girl, from Ottawa, was charged with arson endangering life, arson causing property damage, breaking and entering and possession of property obtained by crime.
She is scheduled to appear in court at a later date, the police statement said, adding that public response to a previous release on Feb. 13 had led to the identification of the suspects.
