Two people were injured, one of them seriously, in a four-vehicle crash Sunday morning on Riverside Drive near Neil Way, east of Bank Street.
Ottawa firefighters had to extricate one of the drivers trapped in their vehicle.

Firefighters quickly stabilized the vehicle and began the extrication process at 8:54 a.m. Specialized tools were used and the driver was safely extricated three minuteds later.

Paramedics said they were called to the scene at 8:42 a.m.
A social media message from Ottawa Police Service indicated “officers are on scene dealing with a collision related to impaired driving.”
That information was not repeated in further messages.
Police indicated the roads were cleared and open at about 10:30 a.m.
