Ontario police are investigating a fatal snowmobile crash that occured about 75 kilometres west of Ottawa.

Ontario Provincial Police responded to a crash on a snowmobile trail in McNab-Braeside around 4 p.m. on Saturday, and a 29-year-old driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A 33-year-old passenger was taken to hospital via an air ambulance with serious injuries.

Police say the section of the trail remains closed.

Renfrew OPP continue to investigate, with assistance of collision investigators and reconstructionists.

On Sunday evening, Frontenac OPP reported on X, formerly Twitter, that another snowmobiler was seriously injured when they were ejected off the snow machine and struck a tree on the E trail in North Frontenac Township.

Paramedics at the scene made the call to airlift the injured person to hospital by AirORNGE.
