Update: Severe thunderstorm warning for Ottawa Valley ends

Ottawa was under a severe thunderstorm watch on Monday evening, but that alert had also ended before 9 p.m.

Environment Canada said Monday evening a line of thunderstorms could bring more than 50 mm of rain to the Ottawa Valley, with Fitzroy Provincial Park, Pakenham, Galetta, Kinburn, Marathon, Constance Bay and Dunrobin placed under a severe thunderstorm warning.

The weather agency issued the alert shortly after 5 p.m., but by about 8:30 p.m. the warning for the area had ended. The Renfrew-Arnprior-Calabogie area remained under a severe thunderstorm watch.

Meanwhile, Ottawa was under a severe thunderstorm watch on Monday evening, but that alert had also ended before 9 p.m.
