The heaviest snowfall is expected to hit on Friday night, with gusty winds expected to “greatly reduce” visibility, Environment Canada said, and there is also a risk of freezing rain.
“Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations,” the warning said. “Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.”
The capital region received about 10 centimetres of snow, followed by freezing rain, earlier this week.
