In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet on the show “Insight,” WWE Hall of Famer Charles Wright, widely recognized as The Godfather, opened up about his experiences with joint surgeries and significant ’s birthday”>lifestyle transformations aimed at improving his health. Below are some key points from the conversation (source: WrestlingInc.com):
The Godfather Reflects on His Surgeries
“Over the past year, I’ve undergone both hip and knee replacement surgeries. At my heaviest, I weighed between 310 and 312 pounds, but now I’m down to approximately 245-250. I feel fantastic—hopefully, that’s visible as well! My eating habits have significantly changed; I’ve transformed many aspects of my lifestyle,” shared Wright.
His Nutritional Approach
Wright elaborated on his current dietary choices: “I’ve eliminated sugar from my diet completely and maintain low carbohydrate intake. I refrain from eating after five in the evening and typically wait until ten in the morning for breakfast. Additionally, I’ve minimized my whiskey intake unless I’m hanging out with Taker! No more bread or fast food for me—not just because they’re unhealthy—but as I’ve aged, I find myself less drawn to red meat. Even grass-fed options don’t appeal to me anymore; it’s simply not to my taste.”
A Legacy Remembered
This former Intercontinental Champion also made headlines by being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as part of its prestigious Class of 2016.
The Journey Ahead
With these changes in place, Wright emphasizes not just physical recovery but a holistic approach toward health that includes mental well-being and self-care.
