Emmerdale has offered viewers a first look at what’s in store next year in Metro’s first picture gallery, which showcases the events to come in 2024.
The festive season is a particularly dramatic one for the ITV soap so expect the subsequent week to follow suit, with big shocks aplenty.
Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), who is getting her head around the fact that baby Ivy is living under her roof, is struggling to cope with the events of the last few months.
The New Year, however, sees her make a huge decision as she finally comes clean to Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) about her true feelings, revealing that she’s become attached to Ivy.
The vet pleads with Marlon to find a way to make this new normal of theirs work. The question is: will he be able to do so?
Elsewhere, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) grows concerned that Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant) has developed feelings for her and therefore resolves to set him straight.
When she does so, however, she realises that he’s actually in a relationship with Victoria Barton (Isabel Hodgins)!
With Gabby officially in the loop, Jacob and Victoria resolve to tell their loved ones the truth, arranging a meeting with Eric Pollard (Chris Chittell) and Leyla Cavanagh (Roxy Shahidi).

But just how will everyone react to their big news?
Elsewhere, Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) gathers her loved ones to drop the big news that she and Tom King (James Chase) are engaged but she’s taken aback to find out that Tom has announced the news already online.
Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), meanwhile, delights Chas (Lucy Pargeter) when he arrives at the Woolpack to see in the New Year.
Is the ice finally starting to thaw?
There’s also trouble for the teens of the eponymous village, with Heath and Cathy Hope (Sebastian and Gabrielle Dowling) setting off on a joyride in Wendy Posner’s (Susan Cookson) car with Angelica in tow.
Emmerdale airs these scenes between Monday, January 1 and Friday, January 5 at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
