The Borno State Police Command has reported a devastating bomb explosion in the Gwoza Local Government Area, resulting in the deaths of eight individuals and injuries to fifteen others.
According to Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso, the explosion occurred on June 29, 2024, around 3:40 PM.
A woman carrying an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonated the bomb at a crowded motor park at Mararaba T. Junction in Gwoza town.
The blast killed the woman, her baby, and six others, while the injured victims are currently receiving treatment at General Hospital Gwoza.
