The island’s Air Traffic Controllers who took industrial action Friday night have agreed to return to work this evening following an emergency meeting at the Ministry of Labour.
The Jamaica Civil Aviation Authority had written to the Ministry Saturday morning to advise that the majority of Air Traffic Controllers had called in sick on the 11 pm shift Friday night.
Labour Minister Pearnel Charles Jr., announced that the parties have agreed to resume discussions at the local level to settle the impasse between the air traffic controllers and the government over elements of their compensation review.
