Donald Trump was left red-faced following his speech at the Republican National Convention after wife Melania embarrassed him on camera.

Donald Trump was left red-faced when Melania snubbed him on camera in front of voters.
The 2024 US election is months away with Trump and current president Joe Biden fighting it out to become the next POTUS. Ahead of the historic vote Trump accepted the GOP nomination for president for the third time in a row at Republican National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Thursday (July 18) – just days after he survived an assassination attempt.
Addressing the room, he said: “I am not supposed to be here tonight. I stand before you in this arena only by the grace of almighty God.
“And watching the reports over the last few days, many people say it was a providential moment. Probably was.”
At the convention the former President was supported by wife Melania alongside other members of the Trump clan. However, political enthusiasts noticed a rather awkward moment between the Republican nominee and his spouse.
Posting to X (formerly Twitter), one shared a video of the couple in an awkward embrace, and as Trump appeared to lean in for a kiss, it looked as though he had been publicly snubbed by his partner – who instead gave him a peck on the cheek. They captioned the clip: “YIKES! Melania Trump completely DODGED Trump’s kiss at the end of his RNC speech. Super awkward moment!”
Others were quick to pick up on the cringe-worthy moment, too. One commented: “She looks like she’d rather be anywhere else on the planet, besides there at that moment…”
Meanwhile another agreed: “I honestly feel sorry for that poor woman.” However, not everyone agreed, with one person writing: ” She kissed him. Were they supposed to make out on stage?”
It comes after Trump was shot at on Saturday (July 13). The former President said his ear was “pierced” when a shooter fired five rounds into the crowd at a rally in Pennsylvania.
Three people, including the Republican candidate, were injured, while firefighter Corey Comperatore was killed. Trump posted to social media in the wake of the attack: “I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin.
“Much bleeding took place.”
