Panaji Municipal Market
Tenants Association (PMMTA) has expressed concerns to the Corporation of the City of Panaji (
CCP
) over non-traditional stalls at the annual
Ashtami fair
held during
Ganesh Chaturthi
.
They reasoned that such stalls negatively affect their business and threatened to protest if those stalls are set up. “We don’t have any objection for traditional fair given at the time of Janmashtami festival which is on Aug 26, and therefore we propose that CCP should give the permission not extending till the Ganesh Chaturthi from Aug 24 to Sep 2,” the PMMTA stated in their letter.
