Margot Robbie’s movie ‘Barbie’ is enjoying a near perfect pre-release box office collection predictions. Greta Gerwig directorial has registered the best ticket presales since James Cameron’s “Avatar: The Way of Water” or Avatar 2, according to reports.
Box office predictions claimed that in north American domestic box office ‘Barbie’ has been all other films since the release of “Avatar: The Way of Water” in December 2022. Avatar 2 had a staggering debut at $134 million.
Director, writer and actor Greta Gerwig has plunged into the world of the iconic Barbie doll to make a movie that promises to be one of the cinematic hits of the summer.
Making “Barbie” was no easy task, and when Gerwig wrote the script with her partner, Noah Baumbach, she didn’t even know she would be directing the film starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

With the movie hitting big screens across Europe from Wednesday, and North America from Friday, expectation is building at how director and indie film darling Greta Gerwig has tackled the most flagrant of corporate product-placement vehicles.
Many were surprised that the acclaimed feminist maker of “Little Women”, “Lady Bird” and “Frances Ha” would be tempted to take on a doll whose body is said to be so unrealistic she would not be able to walk if she were a real woman.
But already in the trailer, it is clear Gerwig’s take on Barbie is nothing if not tongue in cheek.
