BBC star Owain Wyn Evans is reportedly the latest star to join the line-up for Strictly Come Dancing 2023.
The 39-year-old would be competing against Amanda Abbington, Layton Williams and Angela Rippon, who have so far been confirmed for the BBC juggernaut series.
A friend of the broadcaster is claimed to have said that he ‘can’t wait to get started’ on the show because he is a ‘huge fan’ and has a ‘genuine interest in dancing despite being a novice.’
‘Owain appreciates he’ll have it tougher than most, given he’ll continue his daily radio hosting duties, but he’s up for the challenge,’ they continued to The Sun.
Owain was previously a weather presenter on BBC Look North, North West Tonight and BBC Breakfast.

He now presents a BBC Radio 2 show and is a regular reporter for the magazine and chat show programme The One Show.
Owain’s other TV appearances include S4C TV programme Iaith ar Daith during which he took Carol Vorderman on a tour of Wales and taught her to speak to Welsh language.
He has also featured a celebrity guest on Michael McIntyre’s The Wheel and co-presented BBC’s New Year’s Eve The Big New Year’s In alongside Maya Jama and Paddy McGuinness.
In 2022, Owain participated in the reality competition series Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof, presented by Holly Willoughby and Lee Mack.
Other rumoured celebs for Strictly include Stuart Broad, Brenda Williams, and Les Dennis.
The long-running ballroom competition was won in 2022 by celeb cameraman-turned-dancer Hamza Yassin and his professional partner Jowita Przystal.
Strictly Come Dancing returns soon on BBC One.
